Role of the Speech merapist in an Interdisciplinary Team in the Case of Caustic Injury: a Case Report
Role logopeda v interdisciplinárním týmu u kaustického poranění: kazuistika
K zajištění komplexní péče o dospělého pacienta s kaustickým poraněním je nezbytná interdisciplinární spolupráce celé řady specialistů z řad lékařských i nelékařských profesí. V naší případové studii popisujeme péči v oblasti poruchy polykání a tvorby hlasu.

Overview
Comprehensive care for an adult patient with caustic injury requires interdisciplinary collaboration among a wide range of specialists from both medical and non-medical professions. The presented case report aims to introduce to the professional community the possibilities of involving a clinical speech-language therapist in both the diagnostic and therapeutic procedures for an adult female patient after a suicide attempt resulting in an extensive caustic oesophageal injury. In such cases, the speech-language therapist addresses the disorders of swallowing, phonation, respiration or articulation that arise from the chemical burns of the structures involved in speech and the intake of food and liquids. In our case study, we describe the care focused on swallowing disorders and voice production.
