Craniosacral merapy for Preterm Neonates and Infants


Kraniosakrální terapie u předčasně narozených dětí

Tato pilotní studie hodnotí změny v senzomotorických odpovědích dětí narozených předčasně po ošetření kraniosakrální terapií. Do výzkumného souboru bylo zařazeno celkem 63 dětí narozených v rozmezí mezi 28. –⁠ 31. týdnem gestace. Tyto děti byly v průběhu hospitalizace opakovaně, celkem 3x, ošetřeny kraniosakrální terapií. Pro hodnocení byla využita Škála senzomotorické reaktivity, která hodnotí zrakový kontakt, reakci na taktilní stimulaci (dvoubodovou statickou i kinetickou), reakci po otočení na bok a ochotu uchopit a sát nabízený prst a. Rozdíly v hrubém skóre mezi dvojicemi měření pro každou položku byly testovány na 5 % hladině významnosti pomocí Wilcoxonova párového testu. Všechny rozdíly v rámci hodnocených položek byly statisticky významné (p-hodnota <0,05). Nejsilnější efekt ze zjištěných statisticky významných závislostí byl pozorován u položky zrakového kontaktu. Tento rozdíl je výraznější u dětí krmených z lahvičky se savičkou než u dětí kojených. Kraniosakrální terapie tedy může mít potenciál posílit seberegulaci a podpořit zdravý vývoj předčasně narozených dětí, nicméně toto zjištění je nutno podložit dalším výzkumem.

Overview

This pilot study evaluates changes in sensorimotor responses in premature infants after receiving craniosacral therapy. The study included a total of 63 infants born between 28 and 31 weeks of gestation. These infants underwent three craniosacral therapy treatments during their hospitalization. The assessment used a sensorimotor reactivity scale to evaluate eye contact, response to two-point static and kinetic tactile stimulation, turning onto the side, and willingness to grasp and suck an offered finger. Differences in gross scores between pairs of measurements for each item were tested at a 5% significance level using the Wilcoxon paired test. All differences within the evaluated items were statistically significant (p<0.05). The strongest effect of the statistically significant dependence was found in the eye contact item. This difference was more pronounced in bottle-fed infants than in breast-fed infants. Therefore, craniosacral therapy may have the potential to enhance self-regulation and promote healthy development in premature infants, but this finding needs to be supported by further research.
