Assessing Language Development in Children with Cochlear Implants: Challenges and Perspectives in Czech Practice
Hodnocení jazykového vývoje u dětí s kochleárním implantátem: výzvy a možnosti české praxe
Záměrem tohoto článku je představit situaci hodnocení jazykových schopností u dětí s kochleárním implantátem v prostředí české praxe. V České republice neexistuje jednotná metodika, která by umožňovala důvěryhodně monitorovat vývoj mluveného jazyka u dětí s kochleárním implantátem. To vede jednak k nedostatku informací o komunikačním vývoji této skupiny, a zároveň to znemožňuje objektivně hodnotit individuální pokrok jednotlivých dětí v čase.
Článek bere v úvahu aktuální situaci v klinické praxi, kterou interpretuje na základě provedené kvalitativní výzkumné sondy (případová studie, rozhovory s logopedy a rodiči).

Overview
The aim of this contribution is to introduce the current situation regarding the assessment of language development in children with cochlear implants in the Czech Republic. There is a lack of unified methodology that would allow for reliable monitoring of spoken language development in this population. As a result, not only is there insufficient information about the communicative development of these children, but it is also difficult to track the progress of individual cases.
