Overview
Point-of-care ultrasonography (POCUS) is an effective tool for diagnosis, treatment monitoring, and periprocedural guidance of invasive procedures. It provides an immediate answer to a clinical question. Obesity is a chronic disease with a high prevalence and is associated with an increased risk of developing other serious health problems. Physical examination and invasive procedures in obese patients are often problematic. Although obesity is a limitation of ultrasound examination, POCUS, when used correctly, appears to be an interesting option for the diagnosis, treatment, and overall management of these patients.
