Cannulated Vessel as the Risk Factor for Infectious Complications of Central Venous Catheters in Children – Our Experiences
Kanylovaná cieva ako rizikový faktor vzniku infekčnej komplikáciecentrálneho žilového katétra u detí – vlastné skúsenosti
Autori prezentujú výsledky 5-ročného sledovania infekčných komplikácií centrálnych žilových katétrov u detí. Hodnotia závislosť vzniku infekčnýchkomplikácií a kanylovanej cievy. V zhode s literatúrou konštatujú, že najrizikovejšími cievami ostávajú v. jugularis interna a v. femoralis.
Klíčová slova:
cievný prístup – kolonizácia katétra – v. subclavia

Overview
The authors present the results of 5-years follow-up of infectious complications of central venous catheters in children. They evaluated the relationshipbetween infectious complications and the cannulated vessel. In agreement with the literature they marked the internal jugular vein and the femoralvein as the most dangerous vessels.
Key words:
venous access – catheter colonization – subclavian vein
