Teleconference with Oncological Female Patients (Preliminary communication)

Overview
The authors present their findings regarding provision of psychotherapeutic care to a group of oncological female patients via teleconferences which took place every two weeks for a year. The concurrent contact of all participants of the group via a teleconference switchboard made it possible to include in psychotherapy also subjects for whom attendance of classical groups is for various reasons impossible. The dynamics of the group (forming, storming, norming, performing) did not essential differ from the dynamics of a classical therapeutic setup. Qualitative evaluation of the year’s work revealed that this type of care is effective helps to cope with psychopathological, social and family symptomatology and contributes significantly to improvement of the quality of life.
