Myoepithelial Carcinoma in Adenomyoepithelioma of the Breast (Malignant Adenomyoepithelioma) - Case Report

Myoepiteliální karcinom v adenomyoepiteliomuprsu (maligní adenomyoepiteliom) -⁠ kazuistika

Dokumentován je případ padesátileté ženy s tzv. maligním adenomyoepiteliomem prsu. Vedleklasické bifázické struktury benigně vyhlížejícího tubulárního adenomyoepiteliomu se zde nacházel plynulý přechod do nepochybné invazivní léze mající charakter solidního myoepiteliálníhokarcinomu. Žena je 15 měsíců po exstirpaci bez recidivy či metastáz. Předložen je literární rozborvčetně zamyšlení nad terminologií. Diskutována je biologická povaha adenomyoepiteliomu a jehopříbuznost s podobnými procesy ve slinných žlazách a kožních adnexech.

Overview

There is described fifty-year-old woman with so called malignant adenomyoepithelioma of thebreast. The conventional benign looking adenomyoepithelioma with biphasic tubular patterncontinually fused to unequivocal invasive lesion which by immunophenotype turned out to bemyoepithelial carcinoma. The 15 months follow up was uneventful. Extensive literature overviewand terminology consideration is presented. The paper discusses biologic consequences of thisrare breast lesion and its close resemblance to almost identical lesions in the salivary glands andskin adnexa.
