. Treatment of arterial hypertension in children and adolescents
Léčba arteriální hypertenze v dětském a adolescentním věku
Arteriální hypertenze (AH) představuje závažný zdravotní problém, který začíná v dětství a adolescenci a významně přispívá k časnému rozvoji ischemické choroby srdeční v dospělosti. Prevalence AH v dětství dosahuje přibližně 2–5 %. V dětském věku je sekundární hypertenze významně častější než v dospělosti. U dětí a adolescentů je při léčbě primární AH kladen důraz na nefarmakologická opatření. Volba vhodného antihypertenziva vychází z etiologie hypertenze a má respektovat i případné komorbidity.

Overview
Arterial hypertension (AH) is a serious health problem that begins in childhood and adolescence and contributes significantly to the early development of ischemic heart disease in adulthood. The prevalence of AH in childhood is approximately 2–5 %. Secondary aetiology of AH is significantly more common in children than in adults. Within paediatric populations, primary AH treatment regimens prioritise non-pharmacological interventions. The selection of an appropriate antihypertensive treatment is dependent on the underlying aetiology of hypertension, whilst also considering the presence of any concomitant comorbidities.
