Overview
Objectives:
Constantly increasing number of the patients is coming for office hysteroscopy, some of them with some internal, neurological etc. diseases. The aim of the authors is to note non-gynekologic problems and conditions, which can occur, if the patient undergoes office hysteroscopy in a outpatient clinic. They point out some risks, which can be considerably reduced by taking precise anamnestic data or modified approach to the surgery.
Material and methods:
From June 2009 to September 2012, the time of existence of the Gynprenatal practice, the technique of office hysteroscopy was used in 1 300 patients.
Results:
We noticed only one complication with need of hospitalization – protracted vasovagal symptomatology in polypectomia of 28 years old nulligravida. Several patients were contraindicated and the procedure was performed in hospital.
Conclusion:
If gynecologic and non-gynecologic contraindication are found and if the surgeon does not cross the limits of his experience and respects real possibility of his instrumentarium, office hysteroscopy in outpatient clinic is an utterly safe method.
Key words:
office hysteroscopy – private practice – non-gynecologic contraindication of hysteroscopy
