Overview
The document was based on the need for diagnosis and treatment strategy for patients with impaired breathing during sleep or rhonchopathy with regard to The Guidelines of the Czech Society for Sleep Research and Sleep Medicine (ČSVSSM) - see http://www.sleep-society.cz/doporucene-postupy/index.html.
These guidelines should help specialized physicians (especially somnologists, otorhinolaryngologists, dentists and maxillofacial surgeons) and other physicians who take care of patients with sleep apnea or snoring. They will help them in understanding and decision making in appropriate health care for patients with OSAS (Obstructive Sleep Apnea Syndrome) and snoring.
The Surgical section and Czech Society for Sleep Research and Sleep Medicine Working Group will continually review The Guidelines in order to align them with the Guidelines of the European Sleep Research Society (ESRS).
