Overview
The gradual aging of the population will turn the attention of medical and allied non-medical fields to the study and investigation of physiological and pathophysiological changes due to this process in patients. The aging process can manifest itself in the process of nutrition, specifically in swallowing. In this overview, we present basic knowledge and clinical experience from our department about presbyphagia and its risk of bridging into a true swallowing disorders – dysphagia. The aim is preventing these conditions as much as possible through early diagnosis and subsequente duration or therapy.
