Overview

The article shows the evolution of primary care in the Czech Republic between the years 2005–2010. There are followed in particular:

the number of doctors and clinics in different specialization
the number of examinations and interventions,
the number of patient visits.

Currently the primary hospital care fulfils all of its three basic roles:

the prevention,
diagnostic methods, and
the curative.

Using these activities we can reduce morbidity in the first line, to cure simpler illnesses without the need for repeat appointments with specialists, deflect possible hospitalization and bring down costs for providing the health care and even reduce costs from the social care system.
