Overview
In this paper of conceptual framework for assessing the relations of psychopharmacotherapy and quality of life is submitted. Quality of life has become the aim of therapeutic intervention. It is useful to distinguish three components of quality of life: subjective wellbeing/satisfaction, functioning in social roles and living conditions. All three components can be affected by psychopharmacotherapy. Psychotropic drugs have a direct influence on subjective well-being and satisfaction. They have an effect on the level of social functioning. Social functioning can affect living conditions. Changes in both, the level of social functioning and living conditions can affect subjective wellbeing and satisfaction, too.
