Autoři předkládají sérii publikací, ve které popisují základní statistické postupy používané v lékařských a biologických vědních oborech a publikacích. Ve třetí části je uveden nezbytný teoretický úvod k testování hypotéz, zmíněny jsou chyby I. a II. typu, jednostranné a dvoustranné hypotézy a konečně nejčastější druhy hypotéz o poloze.
