The importance of selected laboratory parameters for the safety and performance of amateur athletes

Overview
This report provides an overview of selected, routinely usable laboratory indicators of health in the population of amateur athletes. In addition to regular sports activities, these individuals often participate in highly demanding endurance races such as marathons, triathlons, or ultramarathons. These forms of extreme exertion require not only adequate training and preparation, but also overall good health. However, many amateur athletes are not sufficiently aware of their current state of health, which can lead to increased health risks during performance.
